The standardization institutions refuse the perception of climate change:
Norms frame and to some extent lead the constructive design e.g. of buildings against extreme events in the natural environment. Extent and frequency of those events is predictably changing with man-made climate change.
In Germany, the institutions responsible for the variety of norms have up to now refused to take up that challenge systematically. This kind of defect is illustrated by the analysis of one example, DIN 1055-4: »Impact on Support Structures, part 4: Wind Pressure«. In this example, the defect remained without (negative) consequences.
