More education for better climate protection ?
»All we need is the will to change…« were the words of Rajendra Kumar Payuri, the former chairman of the IPCC, at the presentation of the report 2014. Although
awareness of environmental and climate issues in the last 30 years increased, it has been found that awareness alone is not enough to get people to act and initiate change processes.
In the meantime, experts agree that in addition to innovative political actions, it requires continuous target-oriented communication and education measures, which include solutions, to come up with responsible behaviour of the society. This includes orientation for the futures as well as honest discussion about worries, life and values. Common visions for the future are important to realize climate protection.
